The Fifth Corner: hotel description

The 5th Corner Hotel is situated in one of the most interesting places of St Petersburg, at the intersection of four streets that form an unusual carfax with five corners.
The building, in which the 5th Corner Hotel is located, dates back to the late 19th century and has been extensively modernized just recently. For the convenience of guests the hotel is provided with separate entrance. The most up-to-date ventilation system has been installed and now all the guestrooms are supplied with clean warm air that is especially urgent taking into consideration damp  climate of St Petersburg.
The 5th Corner Hotel meets modern international standards and after the certification of 2004 was qualified as a 3 star mini-hotel.
All of the major historical sights including the Hermitage museum and the Winter Palace, the Alexander Nevsky monastery and St.Isaacs Cathedral are nearby and easily accessible from the hotel, as are the major business districts. The distance to Pulkovo International Airport is 15 kilometers.
Retaining the classic facade of the building, the interior was completely rebuilt offering a fine blend of art deco and modern facilities. All Guest Rooms overlook the historic "Five Corners" with views of historic buildings, such as the house of the merchant Joffe (1913) which has a small tower and seems to cut across the streets like a ship. And Dostoevsky in his famous novel "The Idiot" described the nearby building as a house, where one of the main characters of the novel Nastasia Filippovna lived.
