Public Transport Ground transport operates in St Petersburg from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m.
St Petersburg city bus. Bus stops are indicated by square yellow signs marked with the letter "A".
St Petersburg city trolley-bus. Trolley-bus stops are indicated by blue boards with the red letter "T" or lightened boards with a blue letter "T" , they are usually mounted on poles.
St Petersburg city tram. Tram stops are indicated by boards with a letter "T" hanging on the electric wires.
There are also taxi-minibuses ("marshrutnoe taksi" or "marshrutka"); they have numbers and route descriptions written in Russian on the side windows. You will be charged 24 roubles when you board a minibus, then just tell the driver where you want him to stop. The cost of the trip in a regular bus, trolley-bus or a tram is 18 roubles and you should pay for your ticket in cash to a conductor on board. At "rush hours" (in the morning and evening, from 5 p.m. till 7 p.m.) public transport is usually overcrowded. You can buy a transport ticket for all kinds of public transport (bus, trolley-bus, tram, metro) valid for one month (70 trips on metro and unlimited trips by ground transport).
St Petersburg Metro (underground, subway) There are 62 underground stations in St Petersburg forming 4 lines of the Metro Network. For longer journeys, or if you are in a hurry, the metro is the most efficient transport. Normally trains arrive every 2-4 minutes. The stations open at 5:45 a.m. and close between midnight and 0:30 a.m. You can transfer from one line to another until 0:15 am. It is recommended to avoid "rush hours", when the trains are crowded (7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.). All signs are in Cyrillic print but in the ground entrance hall of each station there are metro maps with in Latin. The cost of a trip on the metro is 20 rubles. You can buy a ticket card for 10-40 trips or single metal tokens. These are available at the ticket cash desk inside each station.

Taxi There are several types of taxis: official taxis, private taxis, and private cars. Official (and private) taxis can be identified by a "T" sign on the side or a "TAXI" sign on the roof of the car, a lot of them are yellow or white "Volga" type cars. For foreigners the standard charge for a cab arranged by a hotel's taxi-service will be around $30 to most places, and for longer trips, such as to or from the airport it may cost $45-50. It is not recommended to use the services of private car owners.
Car Rental There are some companies providing cars for rent in St Petersburg. It is recommended to rent a car with a driver as the manner of driving differs from that of Europe and America. The most reliable companies are "Herzt" and "Rolf". You can also rent a car with driver using our services.

There are local trains that could be taken to get conveniently to the St Petersburg`s most famous Suburbs: Baltiysky Railway Station deals with local trains to Peterhof and Gatchina, Vitebsky Railway Station is a point of departure to Pushkin and Pavlovsk.
